What is recall?
A recall is a notice issued by automobile manufacturers to inform owners of their vehicle defects.
How will I be notified if my vehicle is subject to a recall?
By law the automobile manufacturer must send an official notice to owners of the vehicles found to be defective within a reasonable time.
What does the recall letter contain?
In this notice letter the manufacturer must explain to owners the potential safety hazards presented by the problem, it must instruct owners on how to get the problem corrected, remind them that corrections are to be made at no charge, inform them when the remedy will be available, how long the remedy will take to perform, and whom to contact if there is a problem in obtaining the free recall work.
How to get my vehicle's recall information?
If you have not got any recall letter but want to know whether your vehicle is eligible for any recall, call your dealer, give them your vehicle's
VIN
and ask them to check in their database, or just enter the year, make and model of your vehicle at the top of this page to get the recall information.
What is the limitation of free remedy?
Your vehicle is eligible for free remedy if the vehicle is not more than 10 years old on the date the defect is determined no matter the vehicle is still under the factory warranty. The age of the vehicle is calculated from the date of sale to the first purchaser.
